1. Repeat the Steps 1 to 3 from the Install DMC2 Mods with Texture Injector thread, but on step 2, download the Texture Extractor instead.
2. Open ModManager.exe in the Devil May Cry 2 - HD Collection section, tick the box to activate the tool.
3. Open the game and go until the area that you want to dump a textures from.
I set up to dump EVERYTHING ON LOAD, which means that every texture the game has loaded in the memory at that moment will be extracted, like this:
4. You will have to visually find what you want, and ignore all the rest. So I recommend you have a save prepared to dump only the minimum necessary of textures.
The settings of the textures are dumped automatically as well, so if the textures has an Alpha Channel or something, you'll be able to read that and input when exporting the textures from your image editing software of preference.
The textures are dumped in the path Devil May Cry HD Collection\SK_Res\dump\textures\dmc2.exe.
To insert back in the game, you will have to simply delete the tag Compressed/Uncompressed in the texture name, and leave the number id only, like this:
From to
Then you add that texture to the path Devil May Cry HD Collection\SK_Res\inject\textures\dmc2. You can create sub-folders inside this path for organization if you want.
5. Once you inserted the texture back, disable "Texture Extractor | Dev Mode" in ModManager and enable "Texture Injector" (or else you will keep dumping every new texture the game loads).
Also, you can delete all the other dumped textures from Devil May Cry HD Collection\SK_Res\dump\textures\dmc2.exe that you don't intend to modify.
They won't interfere in anything, but you don't want unnecessary files weighing more and more in your game folder.
Now you can give DMC 2 some love and start doing your own mods!
